I too have driven past the statue many times and noticed him stsnding proud.I have always assumed he had some connection to the building he xtands in front of.

I’ve driven past this guy hundreds of times over the years and heard a number of claims that it’s a representation of the ‘real’ Robinson Crusoe, a Scots sailor called Alexander Selkirk, who was abandoned on an island called Chilöe off the Chilean coast.
Seems if ppl say something often enough, then it must be true, in which case we’ve got a lot of surprises coming ! 😆
